Fear.

Pray for us to overcome our fears.

Try not to provoke the powers.
If you trigger one of their fears you run the risk of being tortured or killed.

There must be a way to adhere to the truth and allay the powers' fears.

If God is our Father then everyone is my brother or sister.

It is better not to be adversarial.
But to have compassion for the powerful, pity for their violence, sorrow for their corruption.
For it is fear that drives them.
Fear of poverty, fear of need, fear of loss.

But less is more.
You might be happier with less.
Less possessions, less work.
More love.

Love can manifest at work.
Through consideration, relaxation, and appreciation.

"Work harder" is not the answer.
"'For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life?'"  Matthew 16:26a (NRSV)

Money is not the answer to human suffering.
Only Love.
